Description

The Allergy & Intolerance Plus will give you a comprehensive understanding of your body and potential allergies and food intolerances that may be causing symptoms or preventing optimum health and performance. It tests a combined total of 117 common allergens and food intolerances through raised IgE and IgG4 antibody reactions.

The Allergy and Intolerance Screen

Using the latest ELISA testing technology, this home-to-lab allergy test analyses a small blood sample collected using the kit provided against 38 common allergens and 79 food intolerances including wheat, fish, fruit, vegetable meat, milk, nuts, pollens and pets. The lab test analyses the blood sample against raised IgG4 and IgE antibodies to give you accurate results in less than 7 business days upon receipt at our laboratory.

Simple & Easy Test

A sample collection kit is mailed on purchase and should reach you within 1-3 business days. Included are instructions and everything you need to easily take the small sample required and return it to our labs.

Allergy & Intolerance Symptoms

If you suffer from undiagnosed digestive-related symptoms such as bloating, stomach pain or diarrhoea or other serious issues such as fatigue or rashes these could be signs of food intolerance or an allergy. By testing for both allergies and food intolerances in our most comprehensive test you can obtain a better understanding.

Our Allergy & Intolerance Testing Laboratories

Our state-of-the-art category 2 testing laboratory is located in our facility and certified according to ISO 9001 as an allergy and intolerance testing business. We use the latest ELISA testing equipment and the labs are overseen by an expert and qualified team of technicians.

Why both IgG4 and IgE Testing?

By testing both IgE and IgG4 antibodies we give you a more comprehensive picture of possible causes of symptoms. Raised IgE levels (IgE, short for “immunoglobulin E,” is the antibody that triggers food allergy symptoms) indicate allergy symptoms. Raised IgG4 (Immunoglobulin G) antibodies indicate a food intolerance or sensitivity. IgG4 responses are actually more common than IgE, which causes an immediate reaction.

Your Allergy & Intolerance Test Results

The results are generated into an email report (PDF) and include a comprehensive explanation of the items tested, as well as whether you have allergies to those items.

This test uses the IgE and IgG4 in your blood sample for intolerance and allergy testing, but what does that mean?

At Test Your Intolerance, we’re proud to offer the possibility to test for both IgE and IgG4. The Choice 70 offers both immunological and non-immunological responses, giving you a full overview of your body and the more specific reactions caused when you are fighting foreign substances via antigens.

Why IgE and IgG4?

The interpretation of the IgE:IgG4 ratio is useful to determine the possibility of an allergic reaction. If it is higher, there is a high likelihood of an allergic reaction occurring, whereas the low ratio shows a low-grade allergic reaction. To identify food allergens which cause chronic inflammatory diseases, it’s required to test the total IgG, whereas IgE is determined only in presence of a Type I or Type 1 allergy. Scientific studies have shown that people with inflammatory and alimentary intolerance have had IgG directed against food antigens alone, but not IgE. An elimination diet elimination based on IgG antibodies (elimination of food with high IgG/IgG4 levels) as demonstrated great ability to manage symptoms in people with IBS and migraines.

We are not offering a quick solution, but the possibility to map out your body like never before. Our range of tests are not used for the diagnosis of chronic or acute food allergies or intolerances as explained in our Test Facts. The easy-to-understand test results report can be combined with your medical history and the help of your GP or an allergist to start this journey for a better version of yourself. What items does this test for?

  • Raised IgE values prove clinically significant in identifying an IgE-Mediated Allergy.
  • Removal of raised IgG4 items may improve lifestyle based on testimonial evidence.
  • CE approved sample collection kit.
  • Results do not constitute a medical diagnosis on their own, but may be used by your doctor or nutritional therapist to help form a diagnosis or rule out a condition.
  • Quantitative data using an ELISA testing methodology. All values measured in Kilounits per antigen per litre (KUA/L), our scale uses a universal cut off point of 0.35 in classifying a reaction.
  • >97% reproducible results. IgG4 values may change over time with diet.

Important

Blood (ELISA) tests define an intolerance/sensitivity as a specific IgG4 antibody reaction and an allergy as a specific IgE antibody reaction (IgE-Mediated).
